This site converts letters into numbers using defined cipher tables and adds them up. It does not tell you what a number means, and no output on this site should be read as a statement about you, another person, an event, or the future.

Coincidental matches are guaranteed

With 34 ciphers and a large vocabulary, some words will inevitably share a value with other words. That is a property of the number space, not evidence of a hidden connection. A single shared value between two short phrases is statistically unremarkable; agreement across several independent ciphers is more interesting, but still not proof of anything.

Historical and religious context

Gematria has genuine standing as an exegetical method within Jewish tradition, as isopsephy in the Greek world, and within Hermetic and Kabbalistic practice. The site presents those systems for study on those terms. Presenting a method is not endorsing any particular interpretation of it, and this site is not affiliated with any religious body or organisation.

Cipher tables are implemented from published sources, and the letter-by-letter breakdown is shown precisely so you can check any total by hand. Where sources disagree on a table, the disagreement is documented in the cipher guide. Even so, no guarantee of accuracy is given — please verify anything you intend to rely on.
