Privacy Policy

The short version: the calculator runs entirely in your browser, and the text you type is never sent to this site.

Last updated: 2026. This policy describes what the site actually does. It does not describe practices that are not in place.

What is not collected

  • No accounts. There is no signup, no login and no user profile.
  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap tool.
  • No advertising. No ad network, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
  • No third-party scripts. The page loads no external JavaScript, stylesheets, fonts or images — every asset is contained in the page itself.
  • No cookies are set by this site.

The text you type

All cipher calculation, the letter breakdown, the matching-words lookup and the PNG export run locally in your browser. The words and phrases you enter are not transmitted to this site and are not stored anywhere by it.

One thing to be aware of: when you type, the calculator writes your text into the page address as a ?q= parameter so a calculation can be bookmarked or shared. That rewrite happens in your browser and sends nothing on its own. However, if you then share that link, reload it, or open it fresh, the text in the address is part of the request your browser makes to the server — as it would be with any URL. If you would rather not have a phrase appear in a shareable address, clear the input before copying the link.

Local storage on your device

The site stores exactly one value in your browser's local storage: gco-theme, which remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your device, it is not an identifier, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Server logs

Like any website, pages are delivered by a web host, and hosting providers typically keep standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and operational purposes. Those logs are created by the hosting infrastructure rather than by any code on this page, and they are not used to build profiles or for advertising.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference tool. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Your choices

Because nothing is collected, there is no personal data to access, correct, export or delete. To remove the single stored preference, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Changes

If the site ever adds analytics, advertising or any other data collection, this page will be updated to describe it before that change goes live. Questions can go to the address on the contact page.
